Celebration reflects on loss and destruction, and the transitions that they call for. This project questions whether the urge to mend is always the right response to something that is broken. At times it can be futile and misguided, when, rather than repairing something that was intent on breaking, we could be embracing change and beginning something new. Mending can also be a beautiful act of optimism; even if the altered thing in question can never be returned to its former state, the act of repair reveals investment, care, and belief.
